I had the opportunity to attend the Turknett Women in Leadership Seminar earlier this semester. It was a morning filled with meeting so many inspirational women in small and big organizations across the Atlanta area. Keynote speaker, CEO of Habitat for Humanity, Lisa Y. Gordon, so wonderfully explained the importance of being an authentic leader. She shared her top 10 leadership lessons learned throughout the years, and I would like to reshare a few of them.
1. Stay Sharp. Devote time to your professional development, whether it’s having an executive coach or listening to podcasts on the way to work each morning.
2. Spend time with people you love.
3. If you ignore your health, it will go away. Make time for yourself both physically and mentally. Whether that’s doing some yoga, or catching up on reading a great book.
4. Be who you are, and leverage the strengths that you have.
So amazing to see all the Scottie alumnae involved in encouraging women in leadership at the seminar today!
